Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to fame after releasing her first album Age Ain't Nothing but an Number in 1994. Her album, which was released when she only had 15 years of age it went Gold. R. Kelly was a key influence on the collaboration which brought her into the limelight. In 1996, she teamed up with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland on her album, One In A Million, which featured the #1 hit single If Your Girl Knew. After the success of this album, Aaliyah won international acclaim for her work as an R&B singer. Aaliyah starred alongside the legendary martial artist Jet-Li in Romeo Must Die (2000) the action and romantic film. Joel Silver, film producer and director of Romeo Must Die, spotted her at an award ceremony. In 2002, she appeared in the vampire movie Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels followed, featuring Zee playing her role. The singer had four Grammy nominations for 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2003. She is from Indian heritage and was born Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann is derived from her marriage name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar, her professional name. She also uses Aarti Magumdar. Although she began her acting career by playing minor film and television roles her acting career gained growth in the latter half of 2000s. Apart from The Big Bang Theory, her notable other works include Leverage (2013) Suits (2014) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017.) Her commercials have featured major brands, such as Volvo. Her daughter is a resident of Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
