Heidi Klum was born in Bergisch Gladbach Germany on June 1st, 1973. Erna Klum was Heidi's mother, was a professional hairdresser. Gunther Kum was the manager of an organization that dealt in cosmetics. Heidi's father had earlier been a production manager for the 4711 perfume company. In Bergisch Gladbach she was born and lived her entire life. Bergisch Gladbach is only 6 miles from Cologne. Former German-American model, Heidi Klum is now an actor and television host. The German women's magazine Petra sponsored this talent show, which was part of Thomas Gottschalk's talk show. Klum was up against over 25000 contestants from Germany as well as Europe in order to be one of the three semi-finalists. In April of 1992, she was awarded the biggest prize in modeling, $300,000.
